Dr. Shahriar Parvaneh graduated with a Bachelor and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy from Iran University of Medical Sciences and University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, respectively. He completed his PhD at Curtin University in Australia. Dr. Parvaneh completed his Post-doctoral Fellow at University of British Columbia in Canada.
Dr. Parvaneh has 20 years of experience in teaching for different levels (BSc, MSc and PhD) both in lecture and online formats. Dr. Parvaneh has extensive clinical experience in acute, post-acute, rehabilitation and community settings for people with neurological conditions. Home visits, home modification, fall prevention, and recommendation of assistive devices are some examples of the type of service that he has provided in different settings. Dr. Parvaneh’s research interest is mostly focused on community integration and return to normal life after neurological conditions in adults and older adults. His research aim is to help people with neurological conditions to stay active and participate in daily living activities as independently as possible. He has developed a community integration framework for people with acquired brain injuries (ABI) and a tool to evaluate fidelity of community integration programs for ABI.
